He is an American former competitive swimmer and, oh yeah, not to mention, the most successful and most decorated Olympian of all time (NBD).
Today, he has won a total of 28 medals and currently holds the all-time record for Olympic gold medal wins. At the 2008 Beijing Games, he won eight gold medals; at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, he won four gold and two silver medals; and at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, he won five gold medals and one silver.
Today, he enjoys retirement outside the pool, as he resides in his $2.53 million Arizona home with his wife Nicole Johnson Phelps, an American model and beauty queen who was Miss California USA 2010.
