John Connolly is an Irish writer who is famous for his series of novels starring private detective Charlie Parker was born on May 31, 1968. He was raised by his parents and grew up in Dublin, Ireland. He graduated from Trinity College with a BA in English and achieved an MA in journalism from Dublin City University. John belongs to White ethnicity, and his nationality is Irish.

John Connolly began his career by working as a journalist, a barman, a local government official, a waiter, and a gofer at Harrods Departmental Store in London.  After five years of working as a freelance journalist for The Irish Times Newspaper. He got frustrated with his profession and began to write his first novel, Ever Dead Thing. Every Dead Thing was introduced to the readers starting an anti-hero Charlie Parker, a police officer hunting down his wife and daughter’s killer.

The novel “Every Dead Thing” was nominated for the Bram Stoker Awards and Best First Novel. Connolly is the first author outside the United States to have won the award for Shamus Award – Best First Private Eye Novel in 2000.
